When you first hear it in person you're looking around for the bass player until you realize Joe Beck is doing it all! At first glance the alto guitar looks like a normal guitar but it's strings give it away. The top two strings are bass strings. The rest of the strings are a combination of normal guitar strings and banjo strings. His impressive talent and skill produces a sound that's all the more amazing when you see it is coming from one instrument.
