Rob Hayes, director of public information at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, brought four musicians, Milton Fletcher, piano (a Monterey High School Grad), Walter Smith, sax, Mark Kelley, bass, and James Williams, drums (also a Monterey High School Grad) back to the Monterey Peninsula to play a few gigs and appear at the Monterey Jazz Festival High School Band competition. We caught their performance at the Jazz and Blues Company in Carmel. The song they did went for 91/2 minutes so it is divided into three parts. Part one features Walter Smith on sax. Part two features Milton Fletcher on piano, and part three features Mark Kelley on bass and James Williams on drums.
